I am considering buying this car instead of the citroen c4 1.6 90 hdi. I am currently owning a 2007 ford focus 1.4 (not diesel). I am driving about 50 km per day and i am having 7.4 lt/100km on the trip computer. At highway trips i am going down to 6.8 lt/100km. Do you think i will do better with the 1.0 eco boost or should i go for the c4?
As I wrote, during my trip on the highway I needed about 4.4 lt/100Km at 125-130 Km/h with the EcoBoost 1.0 125 CV without the cooling system on. I used a Focus Wagon version, so I think you could need just a bit less with the 5 doors version. And 4.4 lt/Km is less then 6.8 lt/Km. 🙂
Then, I have an old C4 diesel 1.6 HCI 110 CV (year 2006). With a full fuel tank (60 lt more or less) in my C4, I was able to drive for more or less 890 Km in highway without the cooling system on. But I had a sad experience with the C4. When my car was about 90000-100000 Km the turbo broke. And I read there were a lot of users had this problem. 🙁
Moreover remember that maintenance of a diesel motor costs more than an unleaded fuel motor. And a 1600 cc motor cost more (in taxes and insurance) than a 1000 cc.
